post-doctoral position - quantum optics - Palaiseau, France

The quantum optics project has an opening for a postdoctoral research position available at the Laboratoire Charles Fabry, Institut d’Optique Graduate School, Palaiseau, France.
The research concerns two related projects.
In the first we are investigating the use of parametric effects to create entangled pairs of phonons in a BEC. In the second we hope to observe a violation of Bell's inequalities using freely falling atoms, entangled in momentum. Both projects will make use of a microchannel plate based detector to detect metastable helium atoms at the single particle level.
See the web page
for examples of previous, related experiments.
